Little by little places of recreation in Panama reopen, being summer, with young people and children on vacation, what better than to spend a day outdoors.

In this post about family trips for less than $ 20.00, I am considering costs of transportation, snacks and tickets for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children).

1.   Visit the Natural Metropolitano Park

In the center of the city we have this beautiful park that has trails within a tropical rainforest.

It has 7 trails, in addition, Cedro Hill serves as a viewpoint to Panama City.

Currently, you need to have a booking for the day and time you want to go, for which you must fill out an online form, a few days before going.

To go to this beautiful place, you will invest in

  • $3.00 tickets,
  • $2.00 in public transportation or $5.00 in fuel.
  • $4.00 snacks (juices, cookies/fruits).

You will invest between $9.00 and $12.00 to visit the Natural Metropolitano Park with your family.

Hours

  • Monday to Friday,
  • Entry hours that can be reserved (you must enter within the one you reserve or you will lose the entry).
    • 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
    • 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
    • 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

2.   Hiking Ancón Hill

This historical place gave rise to the new Panama City (today Casco Antiguo), as it is a vantage point to watch over the city for future pirate attacks.

In addition to the fact that before the hill had a spring that supplied water to the population.

There is more than one place to start to hike, one is through Mi Pueblito and the other is through the Panama Canal Administration Building, the last, you have to keep going up the street behind the Building.

Always turning right, until you reach the security checkpoint (it belongs to the residents of the place, but if you are going to climb the hill, they let you pass without any problem).

If you go by bus, it is best to go through Mi Pueblito, but if you go by car, you can take any of the 2 options, only that, by the Panama Canal Administration Building, you may have to park a little further from the security checkpoint.

Investment

  • Free pass,
  • $4.00 in public transportation or $5.00 in fuel,
  • $5.00 parking (only at Mi Pueblito),
  • $8.00 snacks (bread, tuna, juices, cookies / fruits).

You will invest between $ 17.00 and $ 18.00, and you will be able to spend the whole day with your family at Ancón Hill.

Hours

  • Monday to Sunday
  • From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

3.   Walking the Historic Site of Panama Viejo

This week the Historic Monumental Complex of Panama Viejo reopens, in which you can visit the Archaeological Park, the Plaza Mayor Museum and the Cathedral Viewpoint.

In this place you can learn a little more about the history of Panama Viejo, climb the tower of the old cathedral and, above all, I recommend the Museum, it is quite new and modern, you will learn about the population of that time, the pirate attack and much more.

With the new reopens and due to the current pandemic, this place also requires a booking.

Payment is made by bank deposit, for more information you can contact 226-8915 or by WhatsApp at 63494376.

Investment

  • $12.00 tickets,
  • $2.00 in public transportation or $4.00 in fuel
  • $4.00 snacks ((juices, cookies / fruits).

You will invest between $18.00 and $20.00.

  • Monday to Friday,
  • From 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (entry times according to booking: 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m. y 2:00 p.m.)
